Marvel Season of Superheros (2019)

Disneyland Paris have brought back their Marvel Season for a second year. While the first had some issues, the Marvel Heroes United show had regular problems, the second year has show a vast improvement. The season is still exclusively within the Walt Disney Studios Park.

Entertainment
There are no new shows this year but the three offerings from last year are back and all with updates.

Marvel Heroes United
The show has already been more reliable than in 2018 where it was regularly cancelled or needed a restart. The use of drones has been improved, a few elements have been simplified and others tweaked. Rather than reinventing the show there are just a lot of small changes but these add up to a far better show all around. There are still some issues with the flow of the show overall and managing to put a story together with so many main characters but that has often been an issue Marvel films have faced. This is highlighted more by the length of the show.

Stark Expo
Disneyland Paris have almost completely reworked the show. The show has the same premise, all the same characters are back but we now have the addition of Red Skull and Captain Marvel. There are new effects and the show has been presented in both English and French (I believe only a French version was available last year). Stark Expo is probably the big hit of the season and I would recommend it over Marvel Heroes United. The story holds together really well and each element is easy to follow. I'd argue this should be moved to the Studio Theater and a new show should move to the main stage.

Guardians of the Galaxy Awesome Dance-Off
There is really no change to the show this year expect for one very big one, Groot. After already appearing in Disney's California Adventure, Groot has been added to the show but unfortunately Groot isn't available to meet guests after the show, neither are Star Lord and Gamora.

Character Meets
While there are a whole host of Marvel characters appearing in the shows there is only one new character meet this year, Captain Marvel. None of these use the Lineberty app which does cause some very long and slow moving queues especially for Captain Marvel.

Captain Marvel
She meets in Spiderman's original meeting location next to Blockbuster cafe.

Spiderman
Spiderman has moved (with his new suit) outside opposite Rock n Rollercoaster. His back drop includes the car that used to be in Hotel New York (currently being refurbished into a Marvel hotel).

Captain America
He meets in the same location as last year next to Stitch Live.

Food
The food offerings are similar to last year. There is new Captain Marvel meal at En Coulisse which replaces the Season of Force meal sold earlier in the year. The Groot bread is back as well as a new Guardians of the Galaxy mixtape biscuit. What's on offer is significantly better than the Season of the Force offering, both in visual design and quality.

2019's Marvel offering is a step in the right direction though what most people will take away from it is the amount of walls up around Walt Disney Studios, most of which relate to the forthcoming Marvel land. The new additions have all proved to be great but we're still hoping for more character meets in the future. i would prefer if they moved the season to later in the year (maybe September) so that we could have a more Spring related season running through April and May. We still miss Swing in to Spring and a shared season across both parks would be great.
